Hello alter-ee,

On February 22 in Minsk in front of the Regional draft office there
was an action against the general conscription conducted by the
Anarchist Federation of Belarus (FAB). Beginning with a
camouflage of a snowed area to summer landscape and cleaning a square
in front of the military registration office with a toothbrush, the Oath of a Motherland
Traitor was taken:

- And now, dear motherland traitors, do you want to masturbate for
year and a half?
- No!
- Do you want to be a free workforce for year and a half?
- No!
- Do you want to be a cannon meat in dirty games of politicians?
- No!
- Do you want to fight against your peolpe in the case of order?
- No!
- Before my comrades and my people I solemnly give the oath: ever and
under any conditions don't serve in the army!

In such a festive situation 7 persons burnt their conscriptional
certificates. A lieutenant colonel, who had come out to see what the noise
was, invited the conscripts to come in to talk. The conscripts, taking
the journalist with them for any case, agreed to do at once. But there
was no conversation, because other military men, who were inside, had
already become celebrating and perhaps couldn't talk.

The action lasted about 20 minutes and the police didn't come. The
majority of passer-bies approved a free choice for everyone to serve or
not to serve...

One of the journalists asked a 12-year student of the military college
named after Suvorov what he thought about alternative army service.
The boy answered: "It would be better to work. It depends on the people
- ones like to service, the other like to work".
