Shut up and sew your pockets, or case of Aleksei Cherepanov
12th of May anti-fascist, anarchist and independent journalist
Aleksei Cherepanov was arrested by officers of Gosnarkokontrol
just a few steps from his home. At first they planted on him
one gram of marihuana. Reason of his first 9 day arrest was formulated by
police
as "a refusal to follow legal orders by officers of Gosnarkokontrol".
As a result, Aleksei who has never used drugs has already
spent almost a month behind bars. He is accused of possession of
24 grams of marihuana and 2 grams of heroine, which were
"discovered" in his flat during his preliminary arrest by officers
of Gosnarkokontrol, who broke there without a search permission,
and without witnesses required by Russian law, when no-one
living in the flat were present.
This is not first case in Krasnodar made up to target political ideas
(we remember cases of Evgeni Novozhilov and Dimitri Ryabinin).
Taking into account all aforementioned facts, we are sure
that Aleksei has been imprisoned for his ideas and activism.
Gosnarkokontrol is just following orders of FSB,
which has to some way legitimize its existence, arresting
"dangerous anti-fascists, anarchists and independent journalists".
While special services are delivering their
"justice", innocent Aleksei Cherepanov is doing time in FSB
remand prison, waiting decision about his further decision
to be made 10th of June. We consider
that what is happening with Aleksei is not only amoral, but both
illegal and criminal. This is why we declare that we will use any
legal means to defend Aleksei Cherepanov, and consider him
as a prisoner of conscience. We demand immediate halt of persecution
of Aleksei Cherepanov, closure of the criminal case, independent
investigation to all conditions of fabrication of the case and
punishment to those who are guilty.
